The last café we have chosen for this E-Commerce assignment! Well, they say save the best for last thus, we really save and locked it in our hearts forever! Such a relaxing ambience with absolutely good food!

The B Side's Historical Background

The B side was launched at August on late 2004 by three partners who saw the golden opportunity of making the first move to open such a café in Kota Kinabalu. These three partners who came with food and beverages and also business background chose up a design that lasts long since the first they opened this café even though it only took 6 months!  At first, they only want to give it a try on opening a café with such concept but the luck was on their side, it came as a signature café when you come to Kota Kinabalu. 

The B Side's Speciality 

Their value proposition is actually the quality of their foods which make people come over again and again. They are using the finest ingredients to create delicious and high-quality foods for you. This practice not only for the food but also apply to the cakes and beverages. Mr Howard Chong (one of the three owners) told us that their coffee is using 80 - 90 point of highest grade coffee. The B Side's plus side is also their foods are Halal so everybody can go. Even though The B Side's interior design never changed since the day its opened, it never goes out of date. People still adore the uniqueness of the design. The cafe's interior design has all the trappings pf a hipster scene.

Why The B Side?

We chose The B Side because it is a highly-recommended hipster cafe by our friends. This recommendation does not go into waste because when we get there, we were welcomed warmly by each of the crew members of The B Side just as what our friends told us. Their interior design seems so hipster and it is divided into outdoors and indoors. The black and colour theme goes so well with their furniture and decorations.

Shout out to all the coffee and animal lovers!

Yes, of course, we want to enjoy and relax with our cuppa of coffee without leaving anything unattended at home… It is a hard decision to chill out at a nice café with friends whilst your pet stays at home alone. Well, worry no more!

Puppuccino's Historical Background

Puppuccino is here to save day! With the idea of there is not any single pet-friendly café around Kota Kinabalu where you can chillax with your pets, they have brought a solution to start up this café! It is established on the 20^th of June 2016 by two gentlemen from Sandakan.

Why Puppuccino?

The reason why we chose this café even though there are other cafes near the area is because Puppuccino it outshines the other café near its area. Puppuccino allows you to play with their Corgi breed dog, Teddy. The dog is cute, fluffy and friendly! Since we love animals but some of us do not have pets, we decided to go here so we can cuddle with Teddy. Once we get there we were told that we can bring our own pets here but it must have its medical certificate and must be registered with the café. We love Puppuccino even more! Besides Teddy, the food is nice and the services were excellent!

Their speciality as well as their value proposition is, of course, the idea of bringing pets to chill at the cafe indoors or outdoors. On the other hand, you can also play with Tedy.  

How to get to Puppuccino?

From Kota Kinabalu, you need to go to Plaza 333 in order to find Puppuccino which will take around 17 to 22 mins according to which route you decide to go. 

1. Fastest Route, despite the usual traffic, is via Jalan Pintas - Route 500 (8,4 km from KK) which will take 17 minutes
2. Jalan Penampang (8,9 km from KK) 20 minutes 
3. Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman - Jalan Pintas - Route 500 (8.7 km from KK) 22 minutes with usual traffic.

The main products are of course their food and beverages. Since it is a café, of course, they provide you with fresh shots of espresso to add in your cups. Varieties of coffee such as Americano, Macchiato, Flat White, Cappucino, Mocha, Flavoured Latte and Iced Shaken Double Shot Espresso are available as options for the customers who went here. There are varieties of food options a course meal, desserts, and also finger foods to nibble...

Even though the recipe is considered sacred to some restaurants, they are willing to share with us how the Marinated BBQ Chicken prepared. These fried chicken wings are the most popular items sold at the shop!

Marinated BBQ Chicken

First off, they deep dry the chicken wings then bake them in the oven. Just topped it off with their Home-made (In-house) BBQ sauce, and voila! Delicious finger-licking good wings just for you to grab! Some of those who tried these wings said it tasted like garlic, so you might get a hint on how to do your own delicious wings… Teehee!

With its unique proposition of being a pet-friendly café, Puppuccino also sets up beautiful interior designs at their Bar and the other side. Even though the café is always full of pets, the premise is squeaky clean and they also provide sanitation liquid for you after you have played with your pets. On the other hand, it gives you options whether you want to sit indoor or outdoor.

The indoors are equipped with air-conditioner while the outdoors are meant for those who smokes or just like free air. And one more thing! If those who would really like to pet animal but they can’t make animals their pet at their own home, they can just go straight to Puppuccino to play with Teddy, a Corgy breed which is friendly and fun to play with! You can play with him inside his cage and there are some toys provided which Teddy loves to play with you! Teddy will be excited when there are many people in the café and will be sad if anybody leaves… That is how cute Teddy can be!

Our recommendations for Puppuccino are;
-Add more options for food
-Adjust the portion especially the Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream accordingly to its size
-Offer discounts or add a set of meal before the café’s  peak hours to attract more customer so the cafe won't be empty
-Consider to bring in more puppies beside Tedy (Because people who came need to take turns to pet their signature's dog, Tedy.
